**PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NOW A WAITING LIST FOR THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY GROUPS**
The kitchen operates seven days a week, serving lunch from 11am to 1pm and dinner on Wednesday nights from 7pm.
Volunteers typically work from 9am to 2pm on the lunches and from 5pm to 9pm on Wednesday nights.
Weekends are staffed according to a roster, so groups rotate on a Saturday or Sunday and these rosters are coordinated at a single point.
The kitchen closes from Christmas to the end of January and over Easter as well as the June and October long weekends. Maintenance work is usually scheduled for January.
The parish of St Canice backs up these volunteer groups in a couple of important ways.
A part-time operations manager is on site every day, mainly in the morning to make sure the volunteers have all they need in terms of basic food supplies, equipment etc. The manager also makes sure our store room and cool room are well stocked and the generous supplies of bread and fruit and vegetables are collected.
We also have a cleaner who makes sure the kitchen is pristine and also sees to the toilet block and outdoor areas.
A management committee seeks to keep on top of longer-term planning and development issues as well as additional fund-raising.
